I got it! Financially, probably not the best move for the moment, but it almost seemed now or never. The never option would have made me sad, so I went with now! I went pretty high-end with the Iwata HP-C Plus. My only problem now is my lack of paint reducer. The brush works great until I try to get the fine lines, it starts to spit the paint out in intervals. Even so, the brush is amazing at covering a big surface without losing detail. I've started to paint my sculpture as well, you can follow it's progress on Concept Art forums, as well as here.

3 months with no update :( but my first creature has been baked! (took me long enough, I know...) I left him in the oven at a low temp for the whole day to try and avoid cracks, and it looks like it worked. I haven't taken him out yet, as I want him to cool slowly (avoiding cracking). Quite happy that his sculpting phase is over, now I have a reason to buy that air brush asap. Now it's time to think of what to sculpt next! The options I'm up in the air over are
a: Guildwars Character.
b: Urdnot Wrex Bobblehead.
I'm leaning closer to the second one, as I'm reeeeeeeeally excited for Mass Effect 2. Even though Im not a huge fan of Wrex, I know alot of people are, so if I want to get noticed, I figure that's a good way.

I got really upset with myself near the end of december. I hadn't done anything productive in the art department. I wanted to change that, so I went out and bought a bunch of sculpting supplies. I modified some tools into rakes, I was ready. My days off came, and I unfortunately got distracted by fallout3, till about 6pm... until I got hungry, haha. After I ate, I got my table all set-up and started working on filling out the form, realizing that I built the armature proportionately wrong (dang!) so I decided to go with some sort of huge troll/ogre. I found out that Im really comfortable with sculpting as well and if I had a proportionately correct armature, I could make a pretty dang good human. I'm hoping that tomorrow I can get the rest of this guy ready to be baked (I'm using super sculpy) so I can move onto a different sculpture that I've been looking forward to for a while now.

I got myself a new couch the other day. A nice sectional that complements my tv very well, as it's quite comfy! I can sit there forever. It doesn't help in the fact that I'm poor now. Unfortunately that means I wont be able to get that 3D printing done for a little bit, so I'm gonna have to pass the time with some pixar blu-ray movies!. I picked up Ratatouille last night and watched Lifted when I got home, I never thought blu-ray was THAT clear! Now I'm even more excited to watch it again. So back to the 3D printing, here I am trying to get everything ready for it and I should be able to get at least 3 heads and a whole body done. I'm pretty excited about it all coming together! The picture included with this post is one of the heads that I'm going to try getting printed. The amount of detail these things can have is pretty amazing, I might have to put everything in zbrush before I send them out... Yay for Wall-E tomorrow!

Oh the day from hell came today. Not just for me, but for the dispatch working roomie as well. That however, is not the point of this post. I've had an idea of what to do with all these story ideas that have been floating in my head! I plan to create character models (kinda like toys) from clay and 3D printing! Hopefully I'll get it right and be able to make actual molds out of them, and from there, who knows, maybe they'll inspire something else out of me!

Welcome to my blogfolio! Here is where I'll be posting things for anyone who might care to read it! I'll also be posting things I do on the creative side, like pictures, sketch's, 3D stuff, sculptures and even warhammer stuff. When I get time to do those things anyway... I figured updating to something thats different than 'new site coming soon' would be a good start to show I'm actually interested in keeping this up!
